Pop Up Pedestal Card- For Engagement

Hello,
There are times when i make cards for people dear to me and end up getting too emotionally involved during the entire project. This was one such card.....
It was for a friend of mine who recently is going to get engaged. She was a hostel friend of mine and had lead a very difficult life. From a mom who left them halfway, to dad who was not bothered, both she and her brother have made their own way in life. No roof to stay during holidays, they stayed at some relatives house. Oh god! just thinking about such insecurity gives me chills.. Seeing her i would thank god for giving me something as basic as 2 loving parents!!! Even with so many hurdles, she always had a smile on her face. She believed in enjoying simple joys of life.
I am soooooooooo happy that finally she met someone who will give her ample of love and joy she truly deserves. I wished to gift her something priceless that she would value throughout her life. And she being an artist herself, i really had to think hard on a theme.
Once again my dear friend Dr Sonia pop up card inspired me. And i came up with a lovely theme to make my card....

This is the front of the card. .  Tulsi (thats my friend's name) would always remind me of the spring season, calm yet beautiful, serene yet lovely. Please do take some time and read the poem that i have written for her. Its straight from my heart :)

This is the inside of the card. The pedestal pop up has been inspired from Dr. Sonia's blog. The link to her tutorial is here.
I recently purchased Martha Stewart lattice heart punch from my dear blogger friend Priya craft store. Please do visit her store. She gives stuff at very reasonable rates. MS punches while feel as though they dig a hole in ur pocket. But once you use them, the feeling is absolutely priceless!!! I have fallen in love with it!!
Here is a closer look at the pop up. I have added 2 engagement rings. Made them from pearls and gold paper stock. I wanted the inside to look pristine and romantic...
In the front of card, i have added a waterfall card mechanism. It shows the couples story step by step  ;) I just hope she likes it. Here are a few shots of the waterfall card

I will have to brush up my photography skills i guess :) But hope u guys liked the card. Am a little nervous about how would Tulsi like it. I really hope that she loves it.

Cake Pop up Card

I had been toying around with the idea for making a pop up card since days. But was not able to come up with an appropriate idea. Just recently a colleague of mine asked me to make a birthday card for her best friend and i thought why not to give pop up card a try!!!

When i think of pop up cards, the first name that comes to my mind is Dr Sonia. Browsing through her blog i came across a fab tutorial of cake pop up card and thought of giving it a shot!!
The link to Dr. Sonia's tutorial is here.

This is what i came up with

Its said that the front of a pop up card should be kept simple. So I just used 2 candles, some ribbons and a sweet image to embellish the front.

This is the inside of the card. I wanted to give it a party look. Hence added the "Happy Birthday" on a silver twine.
I wanted to try 2 pop ups. Hence added a cake pop up and another simple pop up that shows 2 teddy friends!!

And since all my cards always have a poem, added few words to complete my card!!!

The 2 pop ups

A little achievement

Hi friends,

At times, I wonder how small things can give you immense please and sense of achievement.
A friend of mine has her own event management firm in muscat .Here is its link Areej T&C.
At the end of any event she loves to gift her client with some momento. She had recently organized an event for the HR department of a company. Now as a momento she had in mind a frame that she wanted them to put in their reception area.

She has particularly asked the photographer to capture the different expressions of all the employees during the event. And then she asked me to write a poem that talks about the various phases of corporate life and how these employees love being a part of that company.

It gets difficult when time constraints are placed when people ask for poems. After some pondering and head scratching I came up with something small and cute. She loved the poem and quickly framed it up with all the photos of the employees in various expressions. All this in just 2 days..!! This is the pic of the frame...

Her client loved the frame and put it up in their reception area.. just as she wished for them too!!! She was really happy as her.
And if u talk of me...i was on cloud 9... and kept beaming happily the whole day... After all its not everyday that my poems are in limelight :P   :)

Just wanted to share my happiness with all of you :)
